The purpose of this ultrasound scan is to assess your baby’s physical development and to look for 11 rare conditions, including head/brain and heart conditions. The other routine pregnancy scan offered by the NHS is around 20 weeks of pregnancy called the Anomaly scan. The Nuchal Translucency scan is offered between 12-14 weeks of pregnancy to screen for the most common chromosomal conditions including Down’s syndrome, Edwards’ Syndrome and Patau’s syndrome. Pregnant women are offered two routine ultrasound scans during pregnancy, this is called the Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme. Just let our Sonographer know, and they will look at baby’s gender. You can find out the sex of your baby from the Anomaly Scan if you wish to. We will give a detailed explanation of our ultrasound findings, and also check the placenta, amniotic fluid and the umbilical cord. The specialist sonographer is highly trained to determine any differences in your baby’s development, although the ultrasound scan cannot pick up every condition. The Anomaly pregnancy scan checks the physical development of your baby. Our Specialist Sonographer will complete a detailed, comprehensive ultrasound scan to check your baby's brain, face and lips, heart, spine, stomach, kidneys, bowel and limbs. These measurements are plotted onto charts, provided in a detailed ultrasound report. These measurements include baby’s head and brain anatomy, the abdominal circumference and femur length. Our Specialist Sonographers assess baby’s growth to ensure that baby is growing well. The purpose of the anomaly scan is to determine the presence of rare conditions including those of the brain, spine or heart conditions. It is offered to everybody by the National Health Service. The mid-pregnancy 20 week Anomaly (or anatomy) Scan is an important detailed ultrasound scan of your baby, including placenta position, amniotic fluid and fetal growth.

![]() The usual game modes are still there as well – Single Player Campaign, Quick Match etc. The small year on year improvements that are made to these systems are always on point so nothing remarkable there, just more of the same. The m圜lub points system is still in place and hasn’t really changed much at all, which is a little disappointing, but the customisation of teams and players is available as always. There are some staples as always in these kinds of yearly iterations. There are also some awesome new camera angles, that while I can definitely appreciate, in all honesty, I’ll never use because I’m boring and stick to what I like there. You can retrain them of course, but it’s something to bear in mind when assigning them. If you use regularly use players out of their usual position, for example using a defender as a wing, they begin to adapt to that position and will subsequently prefer to play that position in games, meaning you have fewer players available in your defending positions. Many of these are also specific to the skill level of a player like Ronaldo, Neymar and so on. ![]() If an opposing player is coming towards you, for example, you need to use one or both analogues to dribble around the defender. You use the analogues to direct special moves. The first is the more realistic dribbling movement and the use of the analogue sticks to achieve this. There are several things in particular that really speak to this realism. This can be too much of a challenge for some who might prefer the game to do everything for them, but who really wants to play a game on easy? You can absolutely adjust the mechanics and AI to be slightly less challenging should you wish for something more arcadey, but if you’re after a more realistic football experience, I’d advise against this, because PES 2020 offers this in spades. PES asks, no – demands, more of the player than they might be used to. The most obvious and impressive thing about PES 2020 is how similar the gameplay mechanics are to real football. It gives you a fresh perspective on the gameplay mechanics and their implementation so we don’t become too ensconced in our bubble of fandom. I will start by saying that if you tend to lean more towards one as a general rule, as I tend to do, it’s always good to challenge yourself by playing the opposing franchise. It’s very hard to do a PES 2020 review without the endless comparison to ‘that other football game’. ![]() Firstly, I need to say that it bodes well for the franchise that the slogan for the game is, playing is believing because this is definitely true for PES 2020. On the other side, there are some indirect things you can do to disrupt the flow of the day. This can have a ripple effect that may also cause someone else to not go ahead with their plans and you will even hear new conversations where people speak of the death and how it has impacted them. If you kill someone at one point in the day, they are obviously not going to be present somewhere later in the day. Deathloop does an incredible job at doing this both from direct and indirect actions. Countless decisions might only lead to one of two possible outcomes. Player-generated consequence is something that always feels quite shallow in games these days. Deathloop delivers heavily on the mystery side of things to really hook lovers of sci-fi in from the start. More could have been done to highlight what missions are available to you right now and maybe even some way to help you line up quests to get the most out of a loop. It feels more like a UI a programmer would design. Even after completing the game, the tab that gives you a rundown of all the events that have happened at different times of the day was still quite difficult to navigate. Trying to figure out what you are actually meant to do and then reading the quest trail is a little cluttered. Setting out on missions is an exciting part of the game but the UI is quite overwhelming at first. You will find yourself putting quite a lot of thought into your loadout before you set out on each mission. You will always want all five with you but must try and predict what is going to come and pick what will benefit you most. What Deathloop does so well with these is rather than give you a huge selection of cool abilities, it gives you only five unique slabs, all of which have applicable uses on a regular basis but then limits you to adding two of these to your loadout when you set off on a run. A pretty unusual power allows you to link enemies together like a chain of voodoo dolls where attacking one enemy will chain the effect to the other enemies. You can equip slabs that render you invisible, allow you to teleport short distances, give you super damage & defence and a range of some more unusual abilities that sure as hell didn’t exist in our 1960s. The powers in Deathloop, which are called slabs, are very similar to some of the powers from the Dishonored series or even plasmids in Bioshock. While this all does a lot to help the average player become James Bond, a unique special ability system takes it to the next level. Upgrades known as trinkets can then be applied to improve areas of the weapon handling that you feel you need. There are a few different weapon types, some of which can have silencers on them, do a lot to help you find a loadout to excel with. This makes a lot of sense when death will reset the game for you but for those who struggle to keep your presence unknown (my hand is up) in stealth games, Deathloop offers a lot of very forgiving mechanics that allow you to pull of some stealthy runs, even if it is not your normal forte. By in large, the game encourages you to remain hidden and to use stealth. When it comes to finding a loadout that works for you, Deathloop offers a lot of suit different play styles. If you are struggling, it is possible to spend some time finding a good loadout that works for you, and actually being able to keep it. ![]() This allows you to hold on to some cool weapons, trinkets and powers between loops.īeing able to keep items between loops goes such a long way in stopping this game from ever feeling frustrating while still allowing for the fun side of a looping mechanic in a game. The game does reset after each loop but if you spend time gathering a resource called residuum, you can make certain items persist between the loops. Deathloop adopts similar mechanics to these games but is not quite as strict. ![]() Games like Hades and Returnal have been living in the roguelike spotlight in recent times. Determined to break out of this loop, you must embark on one an incredibly fun and interesting adventure to solve the mystery. ![]() Having woken up on a beach after what appeared to be a drunken night out, you soon find that you are stuck in an infinite loop where dying or surviving until the end of the day will result in you waking back up on this beach over and over. A potential recipe for success but just how well has it been pulled off? Deathloop drops you into the depths of a complex sci-fi mystery that is taking place in a rather groovy styled island in the 1960s. The retro-futurism style of the 1960s is not one that video games visit often. ![]() Please note that it can take up to 15 days for an item to reach us once you return it. Video Games (Accessories and Games) 15 Days Returnable ![]() It’s an extremely complex game mechanic, which is fine… but the reward just isn’t that noticeable, so why bother figuring it out? The end result is that breeding feels like it was very much forced into the game. And, to make matters worse, most players don’t understand how Heredity works anyway. The problem is that there wasn’t a very good “secondary effect” for breeding. (To be clear, this is a screenshot of Siralim 2’s breeding system in action.) It’s reminiscent of Dragon Warrior Monsters which is what Siralim is inspired by, after all. Players could either find breeding recipes to obtain a certain creature, or experiment with their creatures and see what they could come up with on their own. There are plenty more issues with the Extraction system, but the point of this post isn’t to convince you that it needs to change, so let’s move on.Īnother way to obtain new creatures (especially in Siralim 3) was through the breeding system. It was a glorified Pokemon catching system with the added step of summoning the creature in your castle. Outside of the gameplay issues this presents, it also impacted game performance, bloated save file sizes, and much more. Many players had thousands of Cores in their inventories, and they didn’t serve any real purpose. Cores had no other uses outside of summoning creatures. This might seem like a minor issue, but it really does interrupt gameplay when you’re “in the zone”. Aside from that, it sometimes feels tedious to scroll down to the “Extract” command and then target a specific creature to obtain its Core. Extraction consumed your creatures’ turns, which feels awful when you’ve fine-tuned your entire team to work together in a specific order. This caused some players to intentionally weaken their team to ensure that they wouldn’t kill enemies too quickly, which feels really bad. This means that some players never had the opportunity to Extract from an enemy because they killed the enemies at the start of battle. Many players preferred to create teams of creatures that could defeat enemies before they even took a single turn in battle. In Siralim 3, this formula changed slightly – the chance to obtain a Core was no longer dependent on how much damage the enemy had taken, but instead it was based on how much Knowledge you had about that creature. This Core could be taken to the summoning brazier in Siralim to summon the creature contained in that Core. The more damage the enemy had taken, the greater your chance to obtain its Core. In Siralims 1 and 2, players used the “Extract” command on an enemy to hopefully obtain a Core that belonged to that creature. But, before I get started, I want to talk about what I dislike about the way creatures are acquired in the previous Siralim games. In today’s post, I want to talk about the way creatures are acquired in Siralim Ultimate. My goal is to make Siralim Ultimate’s development process as transparent as possible. ![]() ![]() I’ll also try to end each blog post with a list of frequently asked questions that some of you came up with on Discord and social media. I might get four Frenched racks of lamb, roast them off and make a big sauce. ![]() I like heavy enough for dinner but served in appetizer portions. I don’t love big sit-down dinners at the holidays. Either that or it’s sit-down with maybe six people. I like to go heavy on hors d’oeuvres so if you didn’t eat dinner you felt like you’d eaten something. I have this big platter of cheese balls and all kinds of things to eat them with. This year, I put the goat cheese one in chopped parsley, and then I rolled the chutney one in chopped cranberries so then you have green and red. And then I’ll roll then in different things. And I might mix one with goat cheese and scallion. One might have Roquefort and cognac and a little shallot. Then I divide it into two or three balls and I personalize each ball. I start with a base mixture that basically has cream cheese, butter and seasoning. LSQ: Don’t laugh, but one of my favorite things to do are cheese balls. Switching gears a little, I wanted to ask you about the type of party you like to host around the holidays. Something like that just shows, “Oh, I thought about it and I put my hands on it.”ĬOTS: It’s simple, but it’s still lovely and, like you said, it’s not something that someone has to serve that night. Even if you just have almonds or pecans in your pantry all you need is salt, sugar, a little bit of spice and you’ve got a spiced nut that you can put in a recycled old jam jar. I simply don’t have too much time, so that’s why I look for simple things like, for example, spiced nuts. A little handmade touch shows that you have taken some time. To me, the biggest gift that we can give to people at this stage of the game is time. That’s why when I show up somewhere I don’t try to outdo or prove anything. I’m happy if you make a pot of beans for me if I’m not making it myself. LSQ: I’m such a simple person in my heart. When the Executive Food Director for Martha Stewart Living shows up at their house I imagine some people are a little on edge about how their party goes. It looks like it’s a gift, it isn’t just meant to be used that night.ĬOTS: Plus, it’s got that personal touch without a whole lot of effort on your part. Even if it only sits one day and they want to use it it’s great. So you’ve got the clear with the beautiful lemon peel. Then I just put the lemon peel in the vodka, buy a nice-shaped bottle, take off the commercial label, clean up the bottle and put on a bow. I buy vodka and a bunch of Meyer lemons and I just peel off the peel and try to do it in a nice circular sort of spiral. Around this time of year I do the simplest, simplest thing. LSQ: I always think about bringing something that’s not going to complicate the hostess’ life. What do you typically like to bring as a hostess gift when you’re invited to somebody’s house around the holidays? I didn’t grow up with that but I just started doing it myself and then my family just loved it.ĬOTS: I wanted to ask you about when you attend gatherings. It’s one of those things about building traditions – if I tried to stop doing that I would have a riot on my hands. I can’t even make enough of them anymore. And then it gives off all those drippings and I make individual Yorkshire puddings. It’s actually quite easy to cook if you handle it properly. Only once a year would I buy something like that. So I make a big Italian feast for Christmas Eve and then for Christmas Day we have a six-rib standing rib roast. We have our traditions for Christmas Eve: we do the Italian side of the food chain on Friday night and then we do the English side on Saturday. ![]() Lucinda Scala Quinn: Normally, we stay in New York.
