never do i use stock vw made heads for racing. i use after market heads that are made thicker. but i used stock valve after market heads with a engle 130 cam the valves did not hit. Hi NSR thanks for info i have fly cut heads 220 thousands for 1600cc motors. Even a picture of blown holes, a whole fin coming off the head coz it is just so thin. There is a chapter in the Fisher book how deep you can flycut the roof on stock chambers. Thought 0.150" be the absolute limit for deep flycuts as the roof gets really thin. My memory serves me right, you should be about to come out of the top of the head if those heads were flycut 0.180".
